Pet Portrait Sessions

In Studio ($100) or On Location ($150)

Creative pet portrait photography is truly unique. No two sessions are alike. Before I begin taking photos it is important for me to get to know you and your pet. My goal is to discover, then document, the qualities of your pet that you cherish most. All photo sessions include one pet from one household at a single location of your choice.

Plan on being together for approximately two hours. Each session includes:

 Phil’s time and creative talent.

 Post-processing and editing of your images in our digital darkroom.

 A Reveal Meeting in which a selection of the best images is presented.

 Full retouching services on purchased images.

 Photo Prints & products are sold separately. Merchandise includes Prints, Canvas Wraps, Metal Prints, Framing and assorted photo gift items.

Additional Location

If desired, you can add a second location to your pet portrait session. This is great for getting a variety of images both at your home and your favorite park or beach! Each location adds approximately one hour to your photo session.

Additional Location Fee: $50. Clients are responsible for park entrance fees.

A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is due when booking your session to reserve a shoot date on my calendar.

The above prices above are for session fees only, and do not include prints/products. The session fee includes travel to anywhere within a 50 mile radius of Phil's studio in Cobbs Creek, VA (23035). If shoots are more than 50 miles away add a flat fee of $1.00/MILE

Prepping Your Pooch

Here are some tips for making your pooch look their best on the day of the photo shoot.

Have your dog Groomed a few days before their session if needed.

Bathe your dog before their session.  Brush them the day of the session, and bring brushes with you for touch ups during the location session.

Take your dog for a walk before their session - this will help them relax and burn off some energy.

We focus on the eyes when taking photos of your pets, so make sure you clean any goop from their eyes using a soft washcloth and warm water.

Have some of their favorite treats on hand - we will bring some special treats for rewards as well.

Nothing gets the attention of a dog like their favorite toy. They light up and really get animated with a squeak or just seeing their toys. If your dog likes to chase toys like balls, catch Frisbee’s in the air or retrieve bumpers from the water make sure to bring them along as well.

If you want images of your dog in action, make sure the location you choose has the necessary room for your dog to chase balls and frisbees.

Timing your session is critical to achieving great results during outdoor sessions. The light is most dramatic during what photographers refer to as the "Golden Hours." Golden hours occur in the hour right after sunrise and again in the hour before sunset. If possible, we will try to time our session with you and your dog accordingly.

We make every effort to get the images of your dog that you want. However, we need the cooperation of your dog. So if their sit, stay, stop are rusty you should work with them for a few days be for their session. We will bring a long leash that can be photoshopped out of the final images for dogs whose recall is kind of shaky. Remember, however,  you are responsible for your dog’s behavior and keeping them under control.

One last thing, if your session is in the back yard where your pets do their business, please take some time to clean up before I start crawling around!
